What's happening in QLD right now
Election!
Pete called it today.
Of course, we were all expecting it. I got one of those letters announcing it this morning, along with a whole bunch of other people. I imagine the temp that sent those out a day early got their contract ended.
ABC's running an election site, a forum, and Antony Green gets a look in too.

Well, 6 months ago I wasn't sure if I would but I've decided I'll ending up voting Labor. The no.1 deciding factor for me was the water issue and Petey-Poo at least has a plan of action (for better or worse). One thing that I like is that he's acknowledged that we can't rely on the return of the rains, that our region is experiencing what is probably a permanent climate change and so building extra dams cannot be the only solution to the water issue. His support for water recycling and water desalination has gotten by vote. Plus, I'm rather fond of the ol' media whore even if he can sometimes be a bit of a slack bitch and is well known for dropping the ball on certain major issues (education, health and, let's be honest, letting the water crisis get to this stage in the first place). And Petey is definitely a better option than Lawrence Springborg. The Liberal Party should really think about losing that noose around their neck :P
I'll be voting for Labour also because the are the least worse of the two.
Sure we have problems with Health and so forth but we are not the only place with these problems and the coalition have not really offered a real alternative
Antony Green is awesome!
